It all started with inventing the double chamber tea bag. Innovation has a long tradition at TEEPACK.
If you happen to bring a substantial technological know-how as well as persevering creativity and couple that to an intuitive feel for markets and customers, these are good prospects for success. That’s exactly what our founding fathers at TEEKANNE must have felt when they established TEEPACK in 1948. The sister company specialised in producing tea bag packaging and vertical, form, fill and seal machines for companies all across the world.
The history of TEEPACK starts with its invention of the double chamber tea bag. The special feature of the then novel tea bag is that – different from previous infusion possibilities – the tea within the double chamber bag is lapped by water in the cup from four sides. Thus, the aroma can develop to the full. It was only 1949 when TEEPACK brought “Constanta” to market – the world’s first packaging machine for double chamber tea bags which was able to produce the impressive number of 120 double chamber tea bags per minute. Back then, this meant a sensational novelty. This double chamber tea bag machine which by 1991 had been further developed and marketed under the name of PERFECTA and COMPACTA, ennobles good tea to excellent tea – in large quantities of up to 420 bags per minute.
Today, TEEPACK provides discerning clients in the whole world with packaging machines for double chamber tea bags which are designed to meet their individual requests. And ever since we’ve introduced ZENOBIA in 2005, TEEPACK, the global player from Meerbusch on the Lower Rhine, can also offer a flexible and highly efficient vertical, form, fill and seal machine. We’re quite sure there will be even more milestones in the company’s history in the years to come …
